Grass Fed Black Angus Beef

You Are What You Eat. Our Cows Are What they Eat. You get the Picture!

Our Grass Fed Beef Tastes Delicious and is Excellent for your Health!

Avondale Hills Farm started as a Black Angus Beef Cattle Farm.  Our first and foremost endeavor as Cattle Farmers was to raise Black Angus on Lush, balanced pastures in a humane and holistic way.  That meant splitting up pastures for rotational grazing and sampling multiple areas within our 8 pastures to determine the optimal plan of action in creating a nutrient rich plant mixture.  We added minerals to the soil to boost plant growth in our pastures.  We contracted with plant specialists to purchase seeds which promote specific health and healthy growth in Beef.  They include red and white clover, orchard grass, Timothy Grass, Alfalfa and many others found in Beef Masters Pasture seeds. In the winter Zartman Farms consistently supplies our 1st and 2nd cutting high quality nutrient dense fresh hay.

Our Grass Fed Black Angus Beef does not contain hormones, antibiotics or even pesticide residue traces.

But Grass Fed Beef DOES contain MANY natural health benefits.  To start, Grass Fed Beef has the richest known source of a type of good fat called “conjugated linoleic acid” or CLA.

CLA may be one of our most potent defenses against cancer.  A very small percentage of CLA—a mere 0.1 percent of total calories—greatly reduced tumor growth in laboratory animals.  In a Finnish study, women who had the highest levels of CLA in their diet, had a 60 percent lower risk of breast cancer than those with the lowest levels. Switching From grain-fed to grassfed meat and dairy products places women in this lowest risk category.” [1]

Not only is Grass fed beef higher in omega-3s and CLA it has 4 times more vitamin E than Grain Fed beef. In humans, vitamin E is linked with a lower risk of heart disease and cancer. This potent antioxidant may also have anti-aging properties. Most Americans are deficient in vitamin E. [2]
